About This Game SpaceBourne is a Space Simulation / Arcade / Open World / RPG game.SpaceBourne’s universe has over 100 Solar Systems, over 400 planets and 37 landable Space Stations.SpaceBourne is designed so the player can have total freedom. In SpaceBourne the player can mine astroids, salvage wrecks, bounty hunt, discover black holes, come accross space anomalies, become a pirate, discover uncharted systems. While following the main storyline, the player can trade, accept side missions, help the races at war with each other and form up a force of his own. In all of these activities the player gets to make choices, he can choose to trade slaves, of start a war against them and end slavery.In order to accomplish all of this, one needs a good ship. Player character progresses through leveling, acquire new ships, modify the ships, create new and different weapons. ( As of Beta Ver. 5.0, the game has 144 different weapons and the number keeps going up with each update.)Player Character has active and passive traits. Passive traits ( such as Piloting, Trade, Charisma etc. ) gets better or not according to the playstyle. Active traits on the other hand is left to the player to choose and pick up as the character levels up.Except the main storyline SpaceBourne’s content is randomly generated. Every System is randomly generated at game initialization. This allows for the player to come across different events in every new map. This design choice was made in order to bring replayability to the game and allow the player to encounter different events on same maps.SpaceBourne includes 4 distinct races with different ships, and different specialties. There are more than 3.000 entities for you to interact.You can play SpaceBourne with Keyboard & Mouse, Gamepad or Joystick, the game supports Force Feedback.The Story:Everything starts on a regular day of July 2029 with the appearance of an Unidentified Flying Objects. That day is the first day of earth’s residents meeting their new guests. These guests just wait motionless for a long while... their purpose unclear. In order to be ready for the worst scenerio a committee is assembled by the world’s nations, Wolrd Air Defence Platform. One man is chosen to lead this new organisation, a man everyone calls “The Commander”.By February 2030 people start getting sick. This new disease with no cure starts to kill people in a year after its infection. What doctors call HX4, the people call “guest influenza”. At the year 2032 while the world is struggling with the disease, WADP plans an attack against the aliens who are believed to be behind the disease. But they attack first.While at first heavy casualties are taken, later on under the leadership of the “Commander” great victories start to come. More than 20 enemy ships are destroeyed in the next 3 years.By 2035, three quartes of the world’s population is gone and almost half of the enemy ships are cleared from the skies. While the people await news of a total victory, something shifts the balance... The Commander gets sick.An emergency meeting is held. The doctors increases all research efforts to no avail. Any passing day bring the inevitable closer for the Commander.12th of December 2037 it is decided that the Commander is to be frozen until a cure is found. The next day Commander closes his eyes in a sleeping chamber.When he opens his eyes again, he is in an abandoned space station in Earth’s orbit. The end had come for Earth, and he is still sick. Not a bad game has a good concept, but also has a lot of bugs that should of been sorted by now (had to drop 6 missions/side missions cause they were bugged out). I had 2 missions that were in another language and had no idea what i was doing (game was set to English) and a few spelling issues (not a great deal in early access).I hope the game comes along more weapons, mods for the ships, more ships building, building your own space station.. This game is very well done enjoying it 100%. This game is excellent. Has a few rough edges but thats it. For EA this is incredible. And to think 1 guy and a couple friends. If you like everspace this is a must. I like this better than everspace, every thing i didn't like in everspace is improved on in this game. Out of the ship is the area that i think could be improved on, such as walking it looks a little to robotic. Voice acting is meh...I love the combat. I would pay 30.00 and feel comfortable. First hour is more or less a tutorial and I like where I believe it's going.. SpaceBourne is the game I was hoping a certain other recently released game would be. Pros:1) Missions!2) Variable difficulty in space battles3) Alternate space flight mechanics you can change on the fly4) Decent voice acting for your character and supplemented with acceptable computer voice acting5) A really nice looking starter space ship, both inside and outside6) Space stations you can get out and walk around in that look believable7) A plausible STORY that is both reasonable and that helps flesh out your early experience8) Save ON DEMAND9) It's a bit like Freelancer with updated graphics but has its own charm, not a knockoff/cloneCons:1) Minor mistakes by the computer voice when reading text, e.g. manual is pronounced like the name2) It could be a tiny bit clearer how you advance the conversation with NPCs, pressing "space" to continue wasn't obvious to me for some reason (I might be slow, lol)3) I sometimes had difficulty making "E" open a door for some reason, not a biggy it did open after a bit, I might have been standing too close...not suretl;dr it's EA but plays like a project costing 3X as much, it can only get better, it's fun. This totally washed the bad taste of the lack of combat I encountered in that other recently released space game8.5/10. Not perfect yet but developers work hard on it and already did very good job. Grimoire 1.2.0.26-R Maintenance Update: This update was released before the official manual goes out just to address many issues fixed over the past two weeks.Critical bugs that cause asserts and glitches involving items and monsters are repaired here as well as some bugs that just cause mildly aberrant behaviour.Many issues with balance have been addressed in monster XP and in leveling up for players. Game exploits tapered down. I am not sure any of these were really bugs or unintended but feedback has resulted in them being modified somewhat resulting in many combats, particularly boss combats, becoming much harder to insta-kill and insta-win. Monster and player saving throws against all kinds of effects are more likely in the new tables and combat may be more difficult in general.. Grimoire Manual Underway!: I am working on that manual right now. The Steam keys are going out to backers, I have outsourced it to someone else who is graciously doing that painstaking job of sending each Steam key to each individual backer!The manual will likely be an executable that loads a reference panel with a search facilty built-in so it should be easy to find the information you're looking for.The most recent patch for Grimoire fixed quite a few big problems and added inventory accelerator buttons to quickly flip through game inventory. Unfortunately the fixes may have broken existing savegames. I apologize to people who lost their game data but I think that could be the last time that happens. Grimoire had a lot of last minute changes, always a bad idea, some of them introduced these bugs I had to fix.It is looking pretty stable. I don't consider item data missing sometimes to be a major bug and will be fixing each one of these problems on a case-by-case basis. This will never break a savegame and in fact 99% of most fixes from now on will not impact savegames.
